The biggest bottle of Ta’if Parfum is unveiled!
posted on June 8th, 2010 by ormonde jayne in Perfume
As an avid collector of miniature flacons of perfume since I was a young girl, I also have a huge admiration for the giant flacons that Chanel & Dior have used in their adverts for Chance and J’adore & have had a yearning for one of my own for a long time! And now after all these years … we have arrived! Three months for craftspeople to make it here in England and some convincing arguments to justify it, it has been unveiled this week onto the ground floor of Harrods- just in time to celebrate 5 years since the launch of Ta’if!

Ta’if is undoubtedly our most popular scent, especially in the summer months. Visiting the dusty mountain top town of Ta’if in Saudia Arabia where the plantations are, it is hard to believe anything so beautiful could grow in this harsh climate. The Ta’if rose buds can only be picked for one month in the year in April & they have to be picked before dawn. Adding to these constraints, there is the bizarre combination of rose-eating baboons & porcupines that are competing for our buds!

I have added dates and saffron, freesia & pink pepper, broom & amber to make this intoxicating flamboyant sophisticated scent. If you can get to Harrods to see the giant bottle, do tell us what you think! Incidentally, for anyone living in London – you can catch a taxi for free today if you sign the NHS “Life for Life” register & become an organ donor. Just look out for the special cabs with ODR on them!
